Minutes of the Old Lyme Economic Development Commission of the Meeting of 4/1/15
Meeting commenced at 8 AM in the Old Lyme Town Hall. Present were Bob Jose, John Stratton, Gerry Foster, Bill O’Meara, Heather Gagnon, Joe Camean and new member Howard Margules
We discussed the following topics:
1. Real estate news from last month had few statistics, but overall lots of activity and some higher end homes are finally moving.
2. No new news on Soundview development program nor Main Street grant.
3. No new news on the bike/hiking trail development awaiting news on both design and funding sources.
4. Discussed status of manufacturing in state including service providers.
5. Also discussed business/manufacturing education within the school system. Give students some hands on skills.
6. Continued to discuss Doc’s letter regarding perceived economic status of Old Lyme and what it bodes for the future of the town for both residential and commercial/industrial development and pricing as well as the school system.
7. Adjournment at 9:10 AM.
